The Light That HurtsClass

「Haedap — Finding Answers」 × one-day class

AI Shorts Class.
First-timers welcome.

Never used AI before? That's fine. We set up accounts together, keep the talking short and spend most of the two hours making. You leave with two finished vertical shorts.

01 What you'll make

Two shorts in two hours

①

A short about the sea

First we look at three facts about sea life and artificial light, then make a sea short together, step by step, using one sourced fact.

②

A short of your own

After the break, use the same flow to make whatever you like — your club, your neighbourhood, your pet.

Each short: five or six 5-second clips joined into 25–30 seconds, vertical, with captions and an AI disclosure.

02 How it works

Scenario, then image,
then video

Three steps in a fixed order, so nobody gets lost. We do short ① together; short ② repeats the same steps on your own.

  1. A Scenario

Ask an AI chat for a short scenario

Tell an AI chat service your idea in one line (we'll give you the address on the day). It writes a few sentences of story — five or six moments, start to finish. You keep what you like and change the rest.

  2. B Image

    One image per moment

In the same AI chat, make the opening image of each moment for free. Fix anything that looks wrong before moving on.

  3. C Video

5 seconds per cut, then join them

Upload each image to the AI video service and make a 5-second clip (image-to-video). Make one first to try it, then five or six in all. Join them in the order you made them with a phone editing app (e.g. the Instagram Reels editor or CapCut), add captions, and your story is done. The AI video service is provided by the organisers.

Nothing runs on your laptop — the AI work happens in online services, and you join the clips on your phone.

03 Schedule

Two hours, mostly hands-on

Times count from the start of class and may shift a little on the day.

  1. 0:00–0:10Welcome and accounts — AI chat and the AI video service
  2. 0:10–0:20Asking AI — ask what you don't know yet
  3. 0:20–0:35Sea life and light pollution — three facts and the example film “The Coral's Clock”, with sources
  4. 0:35–1:05Short ① the sea — scenario → image → 5-second clips × 5–6 → join, together
  5. 1:05–1:15Break
  6. 1:15–1:50Short ② your own — same flow, your idea
  7. 1:50–2:00Check before posting (AI label, sources, privacy), post to Reels

Each clip takes a few minutes. While clips render, you write captions.

04 What to bring

A laptop and an email address

Bring

  • A laptop (recommended — a smartphone also works)
  • An email account, for signing up to the services
  • A charged laptop and its charger

We'll tell you before class

  • How to use the AI video service in class (provided by the organisers)
  • A phone editing app to install (Instagram or CapCut)
  • A Google account to have ready

05 After class

Post it as an
Instagram Reel

Your shorts are yours. The default is to post them on your own Instagram as Reels — we'll go through it together at the end of class.

  • Hashtags: #고통의빛 #바다의밤 #해양빛공해 (for the sea short)
  • Mark it as AI-made: turn on Instagram's AI label, or write “Made with AI” in the caption.
  • For the sea short, put the source of your fact in the caption.
  • No faces, names or personal details of other people without their consent. Posting is always your choice.
  • Want it in the shorts hall? Send your Reel link to the organiser — selected shorts are introduced there, with your permission.
